Winnipeg drug testing company charged for falsifying results

When in your work you have to rely on a testing company, you just trust the test results, without even thinking otherwise. But, apparently, we cannot be so trustful because there is fraud everywhere.

The owner of a Winnipeg drug and alcohol testing company is now facing multiple charges for fraud. Colleen Faye Robinson, 54, faces charges of fraud over $5,000, forgery, and using a forged document. Her company, Precision Health Ltd., was contracted to test and certify transport truck drivers operating in the US.

The actual investigation began in October of last year, the police Financial Crimes Unit obtained the information about false test results, the driver samples were not tested properly so the company faked the results and submitted the paperwork. The customers were paying full price, but Robinson`s company failed to do the complete checkup and the results were not full or falsified.

Manitoba Trucking Association executive director Terry Shaw expressed great concern with the situation. He said, a lot of the drivers might lose the ability to drive into the United States, which will impact the industry greatly, not even counting how much money and time was put into this drug testing. The Association had invested a large amount of money into this and at this point, appears to be that many of the drivers just wasted their time for the drug test. And drivers need to be on the road to earn the living and provide for their families, so now looks like they will have to take more tests due to possible false results of the ones already done.

On September 6th this year, police had raided Robinson`s company office and all activities were stopped, the company is now suspended, the investigation continues.
