The RCMP came to the place where the crime occurred around 2:30 a.m. right after the call of the witness. He has found the body in the northbound lane while driving and immediately called 911.
It has already been stated that this young man from Selkirk has been walking alone at night along the highway. The last time he was seen was around 1:00 a.m.
The police officers suppose that the victim got run over a car, presumably, by several vehicles.
The Selkirk police ask for help those people who were in the area of Highway 59 during 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Sunday. The police asks everyone who might have seen something to contact them at 204-482-1222 or submit information via Crimestoppers, if they would like to stay anonymous.
