Massive fire in Brandon, Manitoba

A huge fire has completely destroyed a house in Brandon on Sunday.

Approximately 2 a.m. Brandon Fire and Emergency services had to respond to a call of a fire in a local neighborhood on 23rd street. Firefighters arrived at the scene to find a two-floor house is completely taken by a fire and had to act quickly. Also, a strong wind was no in favor of firefighter’s crew, creating a danger to a next building.

Manitoba Hydro was called to the location to shut off the power and gas supply to create a safer environment for firefighters to get in the house and protect neighbor’s houses from a fire moving onto them.

It took almost all night to calm down the fire and to get inside. Still no official statement from The Office of The Fire Commissioner about the reason of the incident and where the fire had started. The investigation is still ongoing, forensics working on the scene, gathering evidence and recreating what happened at the time when the fire started.

Thanks to a quick response from emergency services, nobody was injured, everyone is accounted for and safe.
