Teen in hospital after shots fired

The unpleasant statistic shows that youth-involved crimes are on the rise for the last three years in Canada. In the province of Manitoba alone since 2015, the number of crimes committed or involving youth went up by 15%, which present only the closed cases. Also, there are hundreds of Liquor Mart alcohol thefts that are not closed yet, but underage youth are the main suspects according to witnesses description.

A “shots fired” call was received early Thursday morning. Multiple police units dispatched to Mountain Avenue, where firearms shots exchange occurred. When officers arrived at the location shots were fired and suspects were persuaded on foot. After a brief pursuit police arrested two underage suspects, one of them received a non-life threatening gunshot wound, he was delivered to a nearby hospital.

Later the suspect was released from the hospital into police custody. As of now, the suspect's identities are not released by the Police Department, the investigation is still ongoing, official police statement is expected after the case is closed.

Police are looking for public help with any useful information about the incident with shots fired on the 300 block of the Mountain Avenue on Thursday, October 4th.
