Traffic stop turns into a drug and weapon bust

A suspicious vehicle was pulled over by police in Winnipeg`s West End on Sunday morning. It happened on Beverly Street, police officer notices a 6” knife inside the vehicle, the driver was arrested and vehicle searched.

When the vehicle was searched officers found four plastic bags of methamphetamine and a larger Ziplock bag of meth.

A 43-year old Colin Cruz Oosterom from Vancouver remains in police custody.

Another big bust was done by Winnipeg Police just a month ago, August 25th Winnipeg police arrested four suspects and confiscated drugs and weapons related to methamphetamine. Officers searched a home on Jefferson Avenue also related vehicle was stopped and searched on Main St. and seized two air soft handguns, two rifles, ammunition, body armor, also meth and prescription drugs.

Unfortunately meth and other drug trafficking is a rising problem in Winnipeg, hopefully, police and local authorities will really concentrate on dedicating the funds and resolving this issue.
