Jermarcus Hardrick gets 1-year contract extension

Our own Winnipeg Blue Bombers is a great team with a bright future and the fans show their support each and every game! The last game was a big failure for the Winnipeg Blue Bombers, unfortunately, Calgary team was better and finished the game on top. The Calgary Stampeders will play in the Grey Cup game a third straight year after downing the Winnipeg Blue Bombers 22-14 in Sunday’s CFL West Division final. Eric Rogers led the Stampeders with three touchdown catches, including a 10-yard leaping grab late in the fourth quarter.

Less than 24 hours after suffering a season-ending 22-14 loss to the Calgary Stampeders in the Western Division Final, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers gathered at Investors Group Field on Monday for what is known as “garbage bag day” to clean out their lockers and answer questions about not fulfilling their goal of winning a Grey Cup, as well as what’s next.

The Bombers announced on Wednesday they’ve signed offensive lineman Jermarcus Hardrick to a one-year contract extension.

Hardrick, 28, started 15 games for the Bombers last season. He’s played the last three seasons in the blue and gold at right tackle, starting a total of 49 games. He was a West Division all-star in 2017.

Hardrick told that there’s an unspoken comfort level with his teammates on the offensive line that made a return to the Bombers a no-brainer.

“The relationship I’ve built on and off the field with the guys on the O line and also the coach is the main reason I came back,” he said. “Now that it’s been announced, it feels real now. I’m just excited to be back in Bomberland for the fourth year.

“I’ve bounced around so being with the same team for four seasons is something I prayed about.”

106th  GREY CUP started last week. The game was held on Monday, November 26th, Calgary Stampeders vs Ottawa Redblacks, Stampeders won 27 to 16.
