Fundraiser for Manitoba boxers

Another great event took place last Sunday in Winnipeg. Winnipeg’s boxing community gathered in an effort to send Manitoba’s best boxers to 2019`s national championships.

On March 31st fifteen young fighters, aged 16 to 24, took part in exhibition matches at the Notre Dame Recreational Centre. Around 2 p.m. many supporters gathered to cheer and support the fighters and to contribute with donations to the fundraiser for the upcoming national championships.

Great support from Winnipeggers and guests of our city gave the contestants much-needed motivation to show good performance and respectful sportsmanship in such sport as boxing.

This year’s national championships are taking place at the end of April in Victoria, British Columbia. All funds raised at the event will go towards making sure those athletes can compete at the national level this spring. With one month left before the championship not so much time left to prepare and get the team ready, so any help is much appreciated.

All participants, coaches, and others, who helped to organize the event and spread the information about it, are grateful for the support and donations to help the team!
