This is a six-week intensive study of the first six stories of Dr. Clarissa Pinkola Estés’ potent contribution to the reclamation of the instinctual nature of women: Women Who Run with the Wolves: Myths and Stories of the Wild Woman Archetype. During the course of our work together, we will examine the various archetypes, symbols, motifs, meanings and life lessons found in the chosen myths and fairy tales in ways that will help draw a direct line to Wild Woman. As we journey alongside such characters as La Loba, Vasa Lisa, Bluebeard’s wife and Skeleton Woman, we will be led through dark and faraway lands where we, too, will find fragmented parts of our own psyche in order to piece our wild selves back together, bone by bone.
This course is for all women, whether or not they are familiar with Dr. Estés’ work. The goal of this group is to introduce you to, or deepen your relationship with, Wild Woman in order to teach you how to bring this much-needed archetypal wisdom into your own life. While this is largely a psycho-educational group, participants should expect to venture introspectively, and share personal discoveries in both dyad and whole group formats.
Fees for this course are $250.00 for six weeks and include a copy of Dr. Estés' book. Registration for this course is limited. Please be advised that due to the nature of the content being explored, prospective registrants will be asked to fill out a short questionnaire to confirm suitability.
Course Educator, Kristy Taylor (M.Ed., C.C.C.), is a certified counsellor currently working in private practice. She has received in-person intensive training from Dr. Estés, for the purpose of creating small focus groups for women in search of self.
