Meraki Theatre Productions presents the Manitoba premiere of "The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later" during Winnipeg Pride 2019.

On October 6th, 1998, Matthew Shepard, a 21-year-old university student, was brutally murdered for being openly gay in the small town of Laramie, Wyoming. Tectonic Theatre Project travelled to Laramie and conducted over 200 interviews which were then transformed into the play "The Laramie Project."

Ten years later, members of Tectonic Theatre Project returned to Laramie to try to understand the long-term effects of the hate crime that took the life of Matthew Shepard. Meraki Theatre Productions' performance of "The Laramie Project: 10 Years Later" will run Tuesday, May 28th - Saturday, June 1st (2019) at 7:30pm nightly (at the Rachel Browne Theatre). We will be donating 25% of the ticket proceeds to the brand new Get REAL Manitoba After-School Youth Program.

Run time is approx 1 hour and 45 mins (no intermission) and venue is wheelchair accessible. The Thursday performance (May 30th) will be interpreted by an ASL Interpreter.
