On June 3, the Mife Campaign is holding a rally on the Legislative steps to raise awareness and pressure our government to make changes to the way medical abortion is covered in Manitoba.

Rochelle Squires (Minister for Status of Women) and Cameron Friesen (Minister of Health), the key decision makers in Mifegymiso coverage, have yet to commit to providing universal coverage for medical abortion. Join us June 3rd to hear our guest speakers lend their perspectives on this issue. (TBD)

Currently, Mifegymiso (the medical abortion pill regime) is only covered in sites where surgical abortion is already offered (Women's Health Clinic and Women's hospital in Winnipeg and Brandon hospital). Everywhere else it is a $350 charge, creating huge inequity in access to basic reproductive rights especially in rural and remote Manitoba.

In the meantime, please continue sending signed letters to Minister Friesen and Squires (find them here). We are still accepting and sending letters!
