A beautiful portrait of a New York custom guitar maker Rick Kelly and his store Carmine Street Guitars located in the heart of Greenwich Village, New York. Rick Kelly and his young apprentice Cindy Hulej, build handcrafted guitars out of wood reclaimed from old hotels, bars, churches and other local buildings. Featuring great guitar performances and stories from a cast of sharp players and artists including Bill Frisell, Nels Cline (Wilco) Marc Ribot (Tom Waits, Marianne Faithful), Kirk Douglas (The Roots), Jim Jarmusch (Sqürl) Christine Bougie (Bahamas), Lenny Kaye and Eleanor Friedberger (Fiery Furnaces).
