Workshop:
WELCOME TO BOLOGNA
-A Primer on the Basics of Bolognese Swordplay
The manuals of the Bolognese tradition offer many insights and tactics for for fencing with single handed cutting swords, but the terminology can be dense and occasionally confusing.
Join Aaron as he breaks down the manuals into their basic actions, and provides a useful and easy to understand way of memorising the many guards and actions from the masters.
Having parsed the basics, the workshop will conclude with a study of one of Marozzo's Assalti of the sword and buckler.
Students will require a single handed sword and fencing mask for the first half of the workshop, and a centre-grip shield for the second half (buckler, targa, etc)
