Thirty-four local organizations in partnership with individuals with experience of homelessness are releasing the final report of Connecting the Circle: A Gender-Based Strategy to End Homelessness in Winnipeg. The comprehensive report identifies the gaps that diverse women, trans, Two-Spirit, and gender non-conforming people fall through that lead to homelessness. We believe this ground-breaking strategy to be a first in Canada, and is definitely a first in Manitoba.
We would like to invite you join us for the launch of the report on Wednesday, September 11th at Rainbow Resource Centre (170 Scott Street) at 11:30 am.
The report is a complement to End Homelessness Winnipeg’s 10-Year Plan to End Homelessness in Winnipeg and includes 36 recommendations for governments, community organizations, and other parties to implement in order to end homelessness for all. These recommendations were developed based on extensive focus groups and consultations with many provincial stakeholders.
