What happens when two artists from different parts of the world meet up in rural Shinyanga region in Tanzania, and embark on a journey of learning, exploration and creation? Join us to learn more their visit to rural communities in Tanzania, and their surprise at what they found – some of the fiercest feminists they had ever met. Learn more about the 1000 Day Journey, a World Vision Canada initiative that supports the health of women and children in vulnerable communities in Kenya, Tanzania, Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Join us at Thom Bargen for a cup of locally brewed coffee and learn more about the project, and hear the story behind "Shujaa”, a massive painting being showcased in Winnipeg.

We'll provide the snacks while Tiyahna leads this important discussion. We encourage questions and conversation as we explore how World Vision Canada is working to ensure good nutrition for women and children in vulnerable communities.

Speaker Bio: Tiyahna Ridley-Padmore
Tiyahna Ridley-Padmore is the Public Engagement Project Lead on World Vision Canada’s ENRICH – the 1000 Day Journey initiative. She has a Master’s Degree in Public Policy and Law, with a focus on culturally-competent and gender-responsive health policy. Tiyahna is a passionate advocate for the rights of marginalized communities, using her background in policy, advocacy and research to address systemic gaps and inequalities both domestically and abroad.
