The WSO is thrilled to present Renée Fleming’s Music and the Mind seminar on September 18, 2019 at 5:30 pm at the Centennial Concert Hall.

Ms. Fleming will also be joined by Dr. Demitre Serletis, Associate Professor, Neurosurgery University of Manitoba and Director of Epilepsy Surgery, Children’s Hospital, HSC, one of Manitoba’s leading neurosurgeons after the presentation for a discussion on how listening, performing and creating music contributes to personal well-being.

About Music and the Mind
A collaboration with the U.S. National Institute of Health in association with the National Endowment for the Arts, Ms. Fleming designed the presentation for a general audience, which was inspired by the Sound Health initiative she spearheads as part of her role as Artistic Advisor at Large to the John F. Kennedy Centre for the Performing Arts in Washington DC.

Since 2017, she has presented Music and the Mind in more than 20 cities across North America, inviting local experts across the country to present their research and discuss their experiences as part of her presentations.

Admission is free but requires advance reservation. For more detailed information, please follow the link.
