A resident of Winnipeg demands compensation from the city for damage that her car received during the repair work on the road

Last Friday, an ordinary Winnipeg resident Amy Robinson returned to her home by car and, as usual, turned to the Point Douglas street. However, an unpleasant surprise awaited her there. Within a few seconds, she began to hear strange sounds, and the car began to bounce on the road.

According to Amy, there was a feeling that something wrapped around the tire and did not let her go. Also, the woman asserts that on the road there were no signs warning about roadworks or prohibiting the passage.

It turned out that a hot asphalt sealant, which is used to seal cracks in the road, adhered to her tires. Attempts to remove it from the wheels did not succeed, her tires were completely spoiled.

The woman wanted the city to pay for the new wheels for her car, but her request was rejected. City representatives said that the sealant would soon be erased from the tires and offered her to continue driving on this rubber.

The local councilor said that Amy can file an insurance claim or go to court to solve this problem. However, she sees injustice in this decision of the city. The woman is puzzled why she should file claims and pay premiums because she did not do anything wrong and is not to blame for what happened.
