Stabbing victim in the hospital

Late Friday night police had to respond to a stabbing call from the apartment complex on Pembina Highway around 11:25 pm. When at the location, officers found a young male victim on the ground with multiple stab wounds. He was delivered to a hospital in critical condition but later upgraded to a stable condition.

As per Winnipeg Police, an 18-year-old victim was unloading personal belongings with his family members, when the incident happened. A male suspect rushed to the victim and without saying a word or any visible reason attacked and stabbed him multiple times, after just ran away. A 7-year-old girl, that was helping the victim, was knocked on the ground during the attack. The victim remains in the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

The next day, Saturday morning, police arrested a male suspect in the same area as the Friday stabbing happened, he is now in custody. Suspect identified as 20-year-old Nathaniel Sean Capay, he is facing multiple charges. With the information and facts known as of now, investigators think the attacker and the victim didn’t know each other, so it makes this incident a random stabbing.

Stabbings like this are not something new for Winnipeg, just 2 weeks ago police had to respond to 8 stabbing call in just four days.
