Winnipeg woman stabbed on Christmas morning

The crime is on the rise in Canada for the last couple of years, and the Winnipeg, unfortunately, is not an exception. Violent attacks, beating and stabbing happen almost every day in our city, even on Christmas day. A young woman in Winnipeg was charged with attempted murder after the murder on Toronto Street on Tuesday, December 25th.

When the police arrived, they found a woman at the age of 20 who suffered serious injuries. The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital in an unstable condition, but since then her condition has improved to stable.

Officers of the Winnipeg Police major crimes unit continued to investigate the incident. Detectives believe that the suspect attacked a victim in her home and inflicted numerous hits to her body with a knife, also the victim's keys were stolen

Later that evening, investigators found the suspect in a hotel in the 1600 block on Ellis Avenue and arrested her. An 18-year-old Vera Raquel Greaves was charged with attempted murder and robbery and remains in custody.
