Transit bus involved in a crash

A lot of accidents on the road happened because drivers are in a hurry and some are excessively speeding, distracted or simply intentionally do not follow the rules and regulations. Every year, about 421,000 people are injured in crashes that have involved a driver who was distracted in some way.

On Wednesday, March 27th a crash happened that involved a transit bus and another vehicle. One person was taken to hospital following a collision between a van and bus in the 300 block of the Pembina Highway.

According to a City of Winnipeg spokesperson, the Winnipeg Fire Paramedic Service responded to reports of a crash approximately at 10:30 a.m. Thankfully, there was only one person who got injured and had to be taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition, and no one else was hurt.

Traffic is moving slowly on Pembina Highway near Fleet Avenue, as police and transit have blocked off the northbound curb lane.

Most of such accident could be avoided by simply following the rules and driving regulations. Speed limits zones are very important, for instance, school zone or construction sites, where speeding fines are nearly doubled. Texting is a big distraction and can lead to minor vehicle damage as well as a big collision with innocent people getting injured or even killed.

So fellow Winnipeggers please don’t drink and drive, do not get behind the wheel using legal marijuana, it is still illegal to drive under the influence and dangerous for your own life, your passengers and others around you. Please keep our roads safe and easy to drive. Let’s all be responsible drivers and care for each other, so at the end of the day, we can all come back home to our loved ones.
