Due to Improper Planning, the Road Section on Chevrier Boulevard Will Be Redone Once Again

The section of the reconstructed road on the Chevrier Boulevard from Waverley Street to Hervo Street will be again closed for passage because it will be expanded for the heavy trucks traffic. Public Works Department communications officer Ken Allen said that the original road reconstruction plan did not take into account a large number of oversized trucks that pass along this road.

Such a heavy traffic on this section of the boulevard is due to the fact that Harris Transport is located on the Hervo Street intersection. A large number of semi trucks of this company are constantly driving on this stretch of the road.

The repeated carrying out of repair work causes huge inconvenience to locals. So, the owner of the A and V Drive-In eatery, which is at the intersection, Angelo Cavadas said he did not understand why this road had not been widened earlier, because a huge number of trucks always passed there.

Angelo is suffering huge losses, his business declined by 50% due to the closure of the road. He said that it would be more profitable for him to close his business than to work in such conditions.

The city authorities promise to complete all the works on the road reconstruction till the end of 2018. The additional cost for the city budget is still unknown, but initially, $7.5 million dollars were allocated to the entire project.
