Hunting is one of the main components of the traditional way of life of the indigenous peoples of Canada and their original right. However, Manitoba government face cases of illegal hunting more and more every year.

So, in 2015 two hunters from the USA hired a guide for hunting in Manitoba. As it became knows afterward, the guide did not have a valid license. So, his work was illegal.

Environmental Protection Officers reported inconsistencies to the law and an investigation was conducted, which resulted in finding hides and skulls of 3 bears.

Three men received a lot of charges and fines of $37,000. Hunting without a license, illegal handling of nature and hunting off-season were among the charges for the men.

As a result, the American was banned from hunting for 2 years, and the guide lost the opportunity to update the license within 5 years.
