Thanks to his brilliant performance in the game against Toronto Argonauts, running back Andrew Harris was awarded the title of Top Performer of the 6th Week in CFL. The 31-year-old native of Winnipeg showed his career-high result, rushing 161 yards with one touchdown and adding a receiving touchdown.
It should be said that in six games of this season, Harris demonstrates imprinting statistics. He has 610 rushing yards and 7 touchdowns, which is the best result in the league.
Andrew is the third Bombers’ player this season awarded the Top Performer. An early prestigious award was already received by a quarterback Chris Streveler in the second Week, as well as linebacker Adam Bighill in Week 4.
Thanks to such successful performances, Andrew Harris was able to enter his name into CFL book of records. With a result of 6,878 yards, he ranked 15th among all league players in its history and 2nd among all Canadians in the league.
Also, on Tuesday morning, Winnipeg Blue Bombers announced the signing of two new players. They are a national linebacker Frederic Plesius and an international receiver Brisly Estime.
Frederic Plesius is a 30-year-old native of Laval, Quebec. He has a lot of experience playing in CFL with 73 games played during 5 seasons. His previous teams were Hamilton Tiger-Cats and Montreal Alouettes.
Brisly Estime is a promising 25-year-old American player who spent 4 very good seasons Syracuse Orange in NCAA and in 2017 he joined the NFL team New York Jets as an undrafted free agent.
It remains to be hoped that the newcomers will fit well into the Winnipeg team game and will help achieve great success this season. Also, we remind that at 7.30 on Friday Bombers will play a rematch with the Toronto team at Investors Group Field.
