A special exhibition opens its doors for the indigenous population to work in the police

The purpose of this expo is the desire of the Winnipeg police to attract more indigenous population to work there.

WPS chief Danny Smyth said that first and foremost, the police should reflect society, therefore, it is necessary to attract more and more indigenous people to Canada for good work.The society of Canada is very diverse, accordingly, all representatives of the Canadian population should work in such a sphere as the police.

Representatives of the Winnipeg police told about the opportunities for career growth and about the specifics of the police work for 65 people who were selected to take part in the exhibition. Smyth is confident that the exhibition will help everyone who wants to receive the necessary information and also told about all the obstacles and barriers that he faced personally during his work in the police.

According to official statistics, the indigenous population of Canada makes only 10% of police officers. The goal of the exhibition is to change the situation for the better.
