Man hit by trailer to death

Man hit by trailer to death

Last week one of the drivers noticed a body on Highway 59 near Beaconia and called the police. No charges expected against the driver of the trailer that hit the victim.

When RCMP officers arrived at the scene around 2:30 a.m., they found a body of a 21-year-old male and believe a body was hit by multiple vehicles and severely damaged before it was found. RCMP is grateful for a call to 911 from a driver, who spotted a body and ask any of the witnesses or other rivers to contact the office with any information that could possibly help to shed light on the incident and help with the investigation.

Investigating officers obtained little info on a Selkirk man, who was last seen around 1:00 a.m., when he left for a walk along the highway, also have determined that a man was struck by a trailer. Police are in contact with a driver, who they believe, was pulling that particular trailer, but so far no charges are brought against him.

Selkirk RCMP asks any local drivers or anyone who was traveling on Highway 59 between 1:00 a.m. and 2:30 a.m. Sunday to contact them with helpful information on the incident or a victim.
