The Winnipeg Transit is going to replace 28 of their buses by the new ones. This is stated in the report of the City Council Committee on General Welfare.
The new buses will be approximately 6 meters longer than the current ones. So the passengers would have less chance to have a barely comfortable trip on a crowded bus.
Additionally, the committee reported that the preparations are being made to open the Stage 2 Southwest Transitway. As a result, several traffic routes will be less loaded.
Now Winnipeg Transit asks the Committee to confirm the prolongation of the $23.6M contract with New Flyer Industries Canada ULC for the delivery of the new buses.
