WRHA announced a new set of plans for phase two of their Healing our Health System program

On Tuesday, September 11, The WRHA made a statement concerning new planes on Healing our Health System program.

Most of all new plans will concern nurses, whose work is related to psychological health at the Grace or Seven Oaks hospitals.

More than 140 nurses will have an opportunity to work at the Health Sciences Centre, Concordia Hospital or Victoria Hospital. Within the program, more than 70 new positions for nurses will be created.

The province also stated that it will try to avoid dismissals by all means and it will provide work to all health workers who want to work. However, there are people who doubt the fulfillment of promises. 23 people are still waiting for the returning of the opportunity to work.

Repair work made the workload level higher, and patients can be affected by this in the first turn.

Also, it was stated that any nurse who does not want to get a new job can refuse and get an official suspension from work for the time of major repairs.

The WRHA’s Acting COO commented on the situation and said that all changes will lead to positive improvements in the future. He also added that this next wave of consolidation brings mental health resources together in concentrated areas and will allow to bring patients with similar needs together.

All novelties will start their work in December 2018 and January 2019.
