The Winnipeg police officers will take part in a charity bicycle race

As soon as the summer is over, the Winnipeg Police Service’s Cops take bicycles and head to the south for charity fundraising.

On Monday, the Winnipeg police officers team started their 3000 km race from their headquarters in the downtown to Tycoon, Arizona. They went through the city along with the police car fleet. There even was a WPS armored vehicle.

The team of Winnipeg police officers, called Cops for Kids, participate in the race for already 12th time. Previously, they rode to Clearwater, Florida in 2005, San Francisco in 2007, Key West, Florida in 2011, Tofino, B.C. in 2013, and Chicago in 2016.

All money, raised during the tours, are given to the Children’s Wish Foundation. This organization helps children aged from 3 to 17, who have dangerous illnesses.
