Winnipeg's Filipino communities wants to help the victims of the typhoon

Typhoon Mangkhut was the biggest typhoon during the last few years in the Philippines

About 100 people were found dead after the typhoon. Also, more than 10 people are missing. Winnipeg's Filipino communities unite to help the families of the victims.

On Tuesday there was a donation, which collected everything necessary for families whose houses were destroyed and whose close people were killed. People brought goods that they could: starting from canned food and finishing with diapers.

One of the women in the community said that she used to live 20 kilometers from the place where the typhoon was. Fortunately, her neighbors and relatives did not suffer.

Elmer Aquino organized a donation and also reported that people who live in the community and work as couriers promised to help deliver the goods to people in the Philippines. He also reported that their community is very close to all the Filipinos and it will always come to the rescue if necessary.

Not only community residents, but all residents of Manitoba and Canada can take part in the donation and help how they can.
