New fines for distracted driving are already in effect

November 1 came into force changes in road fines.

Now all Manitoba people who use any gadgets in the driver's seat will pay new higher fines.

In addition, the police will take rights for a period of 3 days for the first violation, and for a period of 7 days for each subsequent violation. At the moment the penalty is 672 dollars.

As the statistics show, more than 10,000 car accidents occurred due to drivers who were not concentrated on the road while driving, and only about 150 accidents were reported due to traffic violations.
