Allergy treatment can help children having strong peanut reactions

Now, children can consume a little peanut, and not be afraid of this nut in their food. The study involved about 500 children younger than 7 years. After undergoing treatment, more than 70% of children were able to eat one peanut without harm to their health.

These tests have shown that there is a way to reduce the serious reaction to peanuts in children aged 4-7 years.

However, this method is not a cure. It does not save children from the allergy but it can reduce the symptoms after eating peanuts and reduce serious consequences.

Even after completing the 24-week procedure, patients should continue to take peanut protein for a long time on a daily basis, in some cases, for a lifetime. In addition, children will not be able to eat peanut butter in any quantity whenever they want.

The president of the Canadian Society of Allergy and Clinical Immunology says that this method is already used in 7 universities of the country. Under observation, patients are given a capsule with a small amount of peanut protein. If there are no consequences, the patient raises the dose in a month. Constantly increasing the dose, the body begins to get used to it, so a person can begin to eat one-two peanuts.
