The West End community thanked city residents for their donations

The West End community organization is grateful to all residents of the city for not being indifferent and helping the victims of the recent fires.

As the housing co-ordinator from Spence Neighbourhood Association, Benjamin Simcoe, said, donations exceeded all expectations. At the moment, the organization only requests items such as sofas, beds, tables, cots and prams. There are more than enough other things for all people.

The organization asked for help a week ago and the results are just amazing. Most people had to leave their apartments without taking anything with them. Therefore, the help of the city was so important to start a new life.

"It's been incredible," said Simcoe. "We went from an empty space to a completely packed space."
