Lightning strike halted  the train traffic

Friday evening a grass fire in Winnipeg's Tuxedo Industrial neighbourhood halted train traffic and damaged multiple Hydro poles after it was set off by lightning.

Around 7:45 p.m. fire crews got to the scene at Kenaston Boulevard at Lindenwood Drive East.

Crews had it under control by around 8:20 p.m., the spokesperson wrote.

The lightning and the fire damaged several Hydro poles and train traffic was halted in the area as a precaution. As of now, there is no information if any buildings were damaged, also no injuries or burns were reported so far.

Drivers may experience traffic delays on Kenaston Boulevard near Lindenwood Drive East due to the incident and train traffic.
