Midtown Bridge reopened

Most of the road accidents could be avoided by simply following the rules and driving regulations. Speed limits zones are very important, for instance, school zone or construction sites, where speeding fines are nearly doubled.

The accident occurred late Wednesday evening. Police tweeted just after midnight that the northbound lanes had been shut down. The Winnipeg Police Service says the motorcycle was involved in the accident. The passenger on the bike was taken to the hospital in critical condition. The driver of the motorcycle was also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

A number of markers can be seen on both the road and throughout a large grassy boulevard between Smith Street and Donald Street. Northbound lanes were closed from River Avenue to Navy Way. Police say the bridge was reopened shortly after 10 a.m.

Fellow Winnipeggers please don’t drink and drive, please follow the speed limits and other regulations, for your own life, your passengers and others around you. Please keep our roads safe and easy to drive.
