Teenager murdered in Winnipeg

A horrible incident happened in Winnipeg on September 24. A young boy was stabbed to death by another teenager at the railway underpass.

On Friday around 4 p.m. police were called by few construction workers, stating there was a fight between teenagers near Logan Avenue. When arriving at the scene officers found a 17-year-old boy with multiple stab wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors couldn’t help him and he died due to received injuries and a blood loss.

As per police, a victim was stabbed during a fight with a 13-year-old boy, the reasons of a conflict are yet unclear. The boys knew each other, so this is not a random attack, officers said. A suspect was identified and a week later he was arrested and now remains in police custody.

Officers said, the suspect is known to police and this is not his first crime in Winnipeg. Some teenagers show aggressive behavior towards others, like teachers, other kids in school, sometimes even their parents, but to stab another person to death it is a whole different level of violent behavior. In such cases, a psychiatric evaluation will be appropriate and possibly some mental institution time for a 13-year-old murdered will most likely be court appointed. He was already charged with a second-degree murder, the investigation is still ongoing, waiting for an official statement from Winnipeg Police.
