Recently submitted public report of Manitoba revealed that the total budget deficit of the province is $145 million less than forecasted earlier.
Minister of Finance proudly commented on these figures as a sign that the ministry fully controls the finances of the province and is moving in the right direction.
He also accused the previous government of Manitoba that they year after year exceeded the projected deficit because of futile spending and drove the province into debt. He said that his government is implementing the best budget program and is leading the province towards sustainable development.
However, the documents show that the cost of Manitoba's debt service has already reached the figure of $952 million, and the next year will amount to more than a billion dollars.
