Manitoba fleet is going to save money and to reduce emission.
As it became known, the province wants to make some changes in its fleet. Manitoba plans to save $2.3 million and to reduce emission by 4 tons annually. Employees are encouraged to use video calls to the maximum to reduce transport use.
According to calculations, the province will be able to save 8.8 million liters of fuel and avoid the release of 23,300 tons of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere over the next 5 years after the final decision to reduce the fleet. Today the fleet has about 2000 vehicles.
All vehicles that are in the fleet's possession will be tested for several indicators to find out which of them should be eliminated.
At the moment, it is unclear how all the tests will be done but it is known that the Vehicle and Equipment Management Agency will be responsible for them.
