Juniors 2019: Canada loses 2-1 to Russia

Russia got a 2-1 victory over Canada in their final regulation round game at the 2019 World Juniors in Vancouver on Monday, December 31st, 2018.

Russia finished atop Group A and will face Slovakia, the fourth-place team in Group B, in the quarterfinals. Canada finished second in the group and will face Finland, who lost to the U.S. on Monday night.

Over the years, New Year’s Eve games have become the marquee event of the opening round of the World Juniors.

Also not to forget to mention our own hockey team – The Winnipeg Jets. Jets is an amazing team and has a huge army of fans and supporters. Winnipeg Jets fans give big support for the team at every game, and fans can get rewarded with the team win or with a much better gift. Thanks to Patrik Laine and the amazing game he showed last weekend, one lucky Jets fan is now $1 million richer, it is actually $50,000 a year for 20 years.

Laine scored a very rare five goals against the St. Louis Blues, a five-goal game means a Million Dollar prize through Safeway/Sobey's Score & Win contest plus $100,000 for the fourth goal, and $1,000 in gift cards for the third goal, for whoever is in the draw that night.

On Saturday, November 24th that happened to be Christopher Haley of Winnipeg, the company tweeted Saturday night, a great night for the team and the fans.

Congratulations to our fellow Winnipegger and let's hope for the win in the next game! Go Jets Go!
