West End stolen vehicle chase

West End stolen vehicle chase

Car theft is a growing problem in Canada, thankfully in Winnipeg, we have the Air1 helicopter that helps police to track down and find the stolen vehicle fast! The use of Air 1 was quite successful in Winnipeg, no problems were detected. It helped the police to find stolen vehicles and follow the high-speed chases multiple times.

On Monday, January 21st police officers found a car near Beverley Street that matched the description of a vehicle that was reported stolen the same day. The vehicle fled the scene at high speed, and police pursued for a short time, before stopping out of concern for public safety.

The AIR1 helicopter unit helped police to locate the stolen car and track the vehicle to a Furby Street back lane. The vehicle got stuck in the snow on a footpath, where police took the driver into custody.

A 32-year-old Lori Nadine Sinclair was arrested and now faces multiple charges.

The use of Air 1 was quite successful in Winnipeg, no problems were detected. It helped the police to find stolen vehicles and follow the high-speed chases multiple times. A car theft crime is on the rise in Winnipeg. Unfortunately, almost every day a vehicle gets reported stolen, most of them are located later by police on the streets, driven by impaired criminals. Many of such crimes involve youth, they just do it for fun or without thinking, while on meth or under other drugs influence.

Fellow Winnipeggers, please be careful where you leave your vehicle, as the report shows almost no car theft occurred at Parkades and underground garages, as they are equipped with multiple security cameras and have gates, where you have to stop and pay to get out, also security guards at the premises discourage car thieves. So think twice before leaving your vehicle just on the street, try to avoid bad neighborhoods and keep an eye on your car keys.
