Winnipeg’s insect control branch prediction

The Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency (the Agency) must decide whether a federal environmental assessment is required for the proposed City of Winnipeg Insect Control Branch and Heliport Relocation Project, located in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

The recent rain and heat means the city has gone from one extreme to the other, and we should be expecting an increase in the flying pests soon.

Winnipeggers can contribute to curbing the mosquito menace – while the city is tackling public areas, getting rid of standing water in your back yard can make an impact on reducing the population.

As a next step, the Agency will post a decision on its website stating whether an environmental assessment is required. If one is required, the public will have three more opportunities to comment on the environmental assessment of the project.
