Bank of Montreal leaving iconic building at Portage & Main

The Bank of Montreal has occupied the building at 335 Main Street for over 100 years. Now the Bank is moving out of Portage and Main.

The famous branch at Portage Avenue and Hargrave Street will be moving across the street, into the main floor of 201 Portage Avenue.

The Main Street Bank of Montreal building, now a designated historic site, was built by the architectural firm McKim, Mead and White in 1913. While the building will remain it's not clear who might occupy the space next.

This is one of Winnipeg’s most iconic old building, seen on postcards and travel guides.

Who will occupy the building and what is coming to a famous location will be reviled soon!
