Reduced Speed Limits at School zones are back in effect

Most of the road accidents could be avoided by simply following the rules and driving regulations. Speed limits zones are very important, for instance, school zone or construction sites, where speeding fines are nearly doubled.

When school is out and the 30 km/h school zone limits enforced by by-law 76/2014 are no longer in effect for Summer. The reduced speed limit will be enforced again beginning September 1, 2019.

So now reduced the speed limit at School Zones are back in effect since Monday, September 2nd, 2019.

Fellow Winnipeggers please don’t text and drive, follow the speed limits, the limits there for a good reason, keep our roads safe and easy to drive. Every driver should pay attention to the traffic lights and the situation on the road.

Speed limits at school zones are reduced to 30 km/h during the months of September to June inclusive, between the hours of 07:00 and 17:30, Monday to Friday.

Let’s all be responsible drivers and care for each other, so at the end of the day, we can all come back home to our loved ones.
